Group leader

Dmitri Petrov is a Michelle and Kevin Douglas Professor of Biology, the Director of the Program for Conservation Genomics, and CZ Biohub Investigator. He received his Ph.D. in 1997 from Harvard University under the guidance of Daniel Hartl and Richard Lewontin. He was a Junior Fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows and a Research Fellow in the Genetics Department at Harvard Medical School under the guidance of Chao-Ting Wu. Dmitri came to Stanford in 2000 as an Assistant Professor, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2005, to Full Professor in 2009, and to Michelle and Kevin Douglas Chair in the School of Humanities and Sciences in 2011.
