Manuel Razo-Mejia

Manuel is a postdoctoral scholar in the lab of Dmitri Petrov at Stanford University and a 2021 Schmidt Science Fellow. Before that, he did his Ph.D. with Rob Phillips at Caltech, where he worked on topics related to how bacteria make sense of their surroundings via information processing. His scientific interests revolve around the theory-experiment dialogue, trying to make sense of biological data through simple physics-inspired theoretical models. In particular, Manuel is interested in evolution as biology's unifying principle, currently tackling questions related to how to coarse-grain the genotype→phenotype→fitness map.
