Karen Shih

Karen is a Biology PhD student in the Petrov and Winslow labs. She is interested in tumor development under proteotoxic stress and the role of tumor suppressor genes in cancer cell stress responses. Prior to starting grad school, Karen studied molecular and cell biology at UC Berkeley. She then worked as a research assistant in Michael Rape’s lab, where she studied the the redox-mediated mechanism that regulates binding between a ubiquitin ligase and its substrate.
