Alycia Cary

Alycia is a research intern at the Petrov Lab (2017-2019), and is a senior at The Harker School. She is passionate about learning more about molecular biology and genetics, and hopes to merge her enthusiasm for biology with her enjoyment of computer science. Under the mentorship of postdoctoral fellow Kerry Geiler-Samerotte, she is studying the effect of Hsp90 inhibition on population dynamics in yeast, and developing higher-throughput ways to both quantify the role of Hsp90 on adaptive evolution in yeast, as well as identify mutational pathways through which this adaptive evolution can occur.
